The project was to install a subsea isolation valve assembly into an operational pipeline adjacent to an operating platform. This required creating a safe isolation of the work site from the hydrocarbons in the pipeline so that the diving and installation activities could be performed safely. Multiple stakeholders added complexity to the operation. The project required the project, marine and operational teams to work closely together throughout.
HSE was the highest priority throughout. Management of risk, simultaneous operations (SIMOPS), Control of Work and detailed planning and scheduling of the work were all critical to the success of the Project.
